F5B - mustday, 10/11-6-2017

F5B - mustday Model flying club Valkenswaard.

The weekend of 10 and 11 June would be a busy weekend for model flying club Valkenswaard.
Because an F5b match was planned on Saturday 10 June, and on Sunday there was a must day for all members.
Fortunately, quite a few members were willing to reach out on Saturday morning to build everything up for this weekend.
In the morning we started early to get the stuff ready, the tent had to be set up, the flags had to be placed, and the Orange safety net was rolled out and put down. But also the equipment for the competition flying had to be prepared. The race management's legs and tent had to be put in place, the electronic timekeeping board had to be connected and everything had to be tested to see if it worked. Now that there were many members to help, it was ready in no time and it was time for coffee and cake.
After coffee the time had come for the F5B competition to begin.
First, a word of thanks was given by the competition management and then the pilots briefing.
There were 8 race pilots and 5 motos were to be flown.
An explanation was also given for members who had never had anything to do with F5B so that these members also knew exactly what to do.
Now the real work could begin and the first flights could begin.
The weather was good to make it a great match.
The drivers also started the first lap fanatically, but some had to get used to the fairly strong wind that was still there.
Soon all participants had flown their legs and were suspended in the air to perform their 10-minute gliding flight.
After everyone had landed neatly (some a bit too fast) the batteries could be charged for the second round.
in between the rounds, the members of model flying club Valkenswaard flew a bit themselves.
The second round was started again and for many it went better than the first, partly because the wind had dropped a bit now. '
After this second round it was a break, the club had made sure that there was soup and sandwich fillings or frankfurters for everyone.
This was consumed together.
After the break, the remaining rounds started again.
I want to thank the people of the F5B team Netherlands for coming.
And I especially want to thank the members of model flying club Valkenswaard for their help during this competition, it is always nice for the pilots of the F5B class to have a helper by their side.
Saturday's F5B match had gone well and from what I understood F5B Netherlands also thought it was a successful day '.
It is always nice to hear that you have arranged something well and that such a day also goes well.
Now we could start our own must-day on Sunday.
Because we already had a busy weekend with the F5B race on Saturday and our own mustday on Sunday, we decided not to give an extra touch to our own mustday.
It just had to be a fun flying day with a snack and drink and a BBQ.
We would have liked to provide an extra touch in the morning (because the tent etc. was already standing) with something new such as a trunk sale.
Because not much more needed to be done in the morning and we as a board are always looking for fun activities to do together with our members.
We wanted to hold a trunk sale for the first time this year.
We as a board thought that many of our members had enough stuff that had been collected over the years.
And that this was a great opportunity to sell or exchange this.
Also because this is something that we could not arrange much about and that this had to come largely from the members, (taking things for the trunk sale) this seemed like a fun activity.
Unfortunately there were only 2 members who had responded.
So this was not the result we had hoped for.
Let's hope the rest of the day would go better.
And luckily the rest of the day went better.
Slowly, more and more members entered the field and we could start with coffee and cake.
Because the weather was also good (there was only a strong wind) the first aircraft quickly flew their laps in the air.
It was also nice to see that besides the old members, the partners and many new members were also present.
Last year and this year a number of members were added who still have to learn how to fly.
This must-day Stefan mainly focused on these members. Stefan thanks for this.
the club had also provided drinks and snacks.
This afternoon there was plenty of flying and pleasant chats with each other.
A little later in the afternoon the BBQ would be lit.
Around 15:00 the BBQ was lit for everyone who registered.
marc and jos h made sure that the meat was baked and in the tent there were baguettes, rolls, sauces, etc.
That way everyone could take what they liked and it was well taken care of.
After we had enjoyed the BBQ, the wind had died down and it was time for Stefan to build up his tigermoth.
Because this is a very nice aircraft to see, but certainly to see it flying, there was a lot of interest in this.
everyone was watching Stefan build up his plane and then send it into the air.
