Party afternoon / evening Modelvliegclub Valkenswaard

Sunday 20-11-2016 the time had come.
The party afternoon / evening of Modelvliegclub Valkenswaard was just around the corner.
At 15:00 all members were expected in café Oranjeboom on the Westerhovense weg.
Everything was already neatly prepared and decorated in the morning by the board and the managers of the location.
Upon arrival there was a nice cup of coffee ready.
The board had put together a festive and busy program for this afternoon.
At around 3:45 pm Cees (Chairman) took the floor and welcomed everyone.
On behalf of the board, he thanked all those present for the large turnout.
Cees also said that hard work is being done behind the scenes on the club.
He thanked his fellow board members for their hard work in recent months. (our thanks for this)
Cees also said that some board changes will take place.
Finally, Cees said that the first round was served by the board and that everyone could get their own drink for the rest of the day.
After everyone had been provided with a drink, the party could really begin.
There was a big screen showing old movies about the club, and people could have a nice chat.
Around 4:30 PM the board had another surprise.
Marc had meanwhile picked up the microphone and asked if Cees and Rian would come forward.
He said that Cees has been chairman of the Modelvliegclub for 35 years this year and that this is quite an achievement, and that they had therefore invited someone.
Now Marc gave the floor to alderman Egbert Buiter.
Alderman Egbert Buiter took the floor and said that 35 years of chairmanship is indeed quite an achievement and that this has not gone unnoticed by the municipality of Valkenswaard.
And that the municipality of Valkenswaard had therefore decided to pay tribute to Cees and to hand him a sports medal.
After the ceremony and handing over of the sports medal to Cees, Cees was a bit taken by surprise and glad it was over, but nothing could be further from the truth.
In the meantime Richard had taken the floor again and told Cees that there was something more.
The model flying club itself also wanted to thank Cees for his many years of commitment and his 35th anniversary.
Richard handed Rian a flower because she has always meant a lot to the club and has always stood by the side of Cees.
Richard then turned to Cees again and said that the model flying club thought that Cees could continue to call himself an honorary member from now on and handed over the certificate that goes with it.
After all the honors were over, the club provided some food.
A large pan of pea soup and sandwiches with ham and cheese had been provided. This suited the weather of this day well because outside it was still storming.
After everyone had had a cup of pea soup and sandwiches, we moved on to the last activity of the evening, the feel-matic game.
The feel-automatic game was put together by Johan and that is why Johan was also the game leader and driver of this part.
What exactly was the purpose of this game.
In a large box were placed 15 parts related to our hobby, and each member was asked to take the parts with their hands in the box and guess which parts they were.
This was quite difficult because the parts were not allowed to be taken out of the box and you only had to guess what it was within two minutes.
For each correctly guessed item you got 1 point and the one with the most points wins the game.
When everyone had done this, they proceeded to the award ceremony.
The result of the first prize was easy, there was only one member who guessed all parts correctly, the second prize was more difficult because for the second prize there were three members with 14 correctly guessed parts.
The first prize was won by Erik van den Hoogen and he received a voucher from Wouters from Johan.
the second prize was won by Ad Schoor, Stefan Gehoel and Louis Rademakers, these members received caps with a club logo.
After the award ceremony there was some drinking and talking about our beautiful hobby. We had a nice time together until the end

Finally, I would like to thank everyone who attended this day. None of this would have been possible without you. This is highly appreciated by the board.
I also want to thank the people who helped us arrange and / or take care of the food.
Jan (house photographer) thanks for the photos
Alderman Egbert Buiter for being there to present Cees with the sports medal.
And lastly, the van de Heijden brothers of café Oranjeboom take care of the good care.
